
Jhargram, 19 September (H.S.): A tragic incident occurred in the Dudhkundi area of West Bengal’s Jhargram district on Saturday afternoon when lightning struck a field, leaving seven people injured and killing several cattle.
According to local sources, six women and a man from Indrakhara village under Dudhkundi Gram Panchayat had gone to a field near the village in the morning to graze their cattle. At around 12:30 pm, lightning suddenly struck the area.
The impact of the lightning strike caused all seven people to fall to the ground. Several cattle were also killed at the spot.
After receiving information about the incident, local residents rushed to the field and rescued the injured. They arranged for medical treatment, while seriously injured Shishir Mahato was taken to Jhargram Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The incident triggered panic in the area. The deaths of several cattle have also left the affected villagers worried and distressed.
