
New Delhi, 19 September (H.S.): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Saturday attended a ‘Thana Diwas’ public hearing at PS Maurya Enclave, interacted with citizens and heard their grievances. He directed officials to ensure that the complaints raised by residents are addressed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the Delhi Police’s core responsibilities and called for policing that is visible, accessible and responsive, coupled with a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He directed officials to ensure that copies of FIRs are provided promptly, regular updates on cases are given, beat policing and night patrols are strengthened, and special attention is paid to the safety and security of women, children and senior citizens.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with local residents and emphasised that active collaboration with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and market associations is essential for building public trust and making Delhi safer.
