Guwahati, 19 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday donated blood at the BJP headquarters in Basistha, Guwahati, as part of a state-wide initiative marking the death anniversary of singer Zubeen Garg.

Sarma reached the party office in the afternoon and joined BJP workers in the blood donation programme organised in memory of the late singer. Minister Keshab Mahanta and several party workers were also present at the event.

The blood donation drive was organised at multiple locations across Assam on Saturday following an earlier announcement by Sarma that BJP workers would hold such camps to commemorate Zubeen Garg.

Sarma had also said that he would personally donate blood at the BJP office as part of the initiative.

The programme was organised as a tribute to Zubeen Garg, with BJP workers participating in blood donation camps across the state to mark the occasion.------------
