Prayagraj Circuit House on Saturday, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad, Cabinet Minister

of the Uttar Pradesh government and National President of the Nishad Party,

said that the fisheries sector is playing a vital role in strengthening the

state's economy. Various schemes are being implemented with the support of the

central and state governments for the economic and social upliftment of

fishermen and the fishing community.

Dr. Nishad stated that over the past four and a half years,

numerous schemes have been implemented through the Fisheries Department.

According to him, the Fisheries Department was previously viewed as a

relatively neglected department, but now public awareness of fisheries-related

schemes and activities has increased.

He stated that several schemes are being implemented in the

state, including the Prime Minister's Fisheries Property Scheme, the Prime

Minister's Fishermen Accident Insurance Scheme, the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for

fisheries, NFDP registration, the Chief Minister's Fisheries Property Scheme,

the Nishad Raj Boat Scheme, the Mata Suketa Cage Culture and Aeration System.

He claimed that approximately 1,000 beneficiaries in the Prayagraj division have

already been provided with the benefits of various schemes.

Dr. Nishad stated that a Fishermen Welfare Fund has also

been established. Through this fund, assistance is being provided for needs

such as education, medical care, marriage, and natural disaster relief, and

work is underway to establish the Matsya Utsav Bhawan.

Regarding the upcoming assembly elections, he explained that

the Nishad Party has divided Uttar Pradesh into 10 provinces, each representing

10 Lok Sabha constituencies. According to the party, programs will be organized

in all these provinces, with the program scheduled to begin on September 20 in

Prayagraj.

He said that the program is proposed to be held in the

grounds of Northern Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT) located

in Teliyarganj. Dr. Nishad said that the party is preparing to contest three

seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Prayagraj, while it is preparing to

field candidates in six assembly seats in the Prayagraj division. He said that

through the proposed program, the party will inform its community members about

the work done and ongoing schemes for the fishermen community while in power.
