Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Shri Jyoti Sarup Sahib in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. She said that this sacred land, associated with the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji, is an eternal source of inspiration for sacrifice, penance, courage and devotion to righteousness.

The Chief Minister offered prayers at the Guru’s feet for the peace, prosperity and well-being of Punjab and for the welfare of every family in the state. She prayed that the blessings of Waheguru remain upon all and that the light of service, truth and harmony may continue to guide people’s lives.

Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that she had prayed to Guru Sahib for the strength to enable the people of Punjab to unite and fight against the atrocities allegedly continuing in the state and the grip of the drug menace. “We must ensure the safety and security of Punjab and its youth. The entire country stands with Punjab in this struggle,” she said.

It may be noted that the Delhi Chief Minister arrived in Punjab on Saturday to participate in the ‘Nasha-Mukt Punjab Yatra’ (Drug-Free Punjab Yatra).
