Guwahati, 19 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday paid a heartfelt tribute to late singer and music icon Zubeen Garg, remembering his enduring contribution to Assamese music and culture.

In a social media post, Sarma said Garg continues to remain alive in the hearts of people through his songs, melodies and voice. He recalled the memories evoked by the singer’s creations and described him as a great and evergreen personality of Assam’s national life.

“Zubeen Garg is still among us and will remain forever — in songs, melodies, voice and in the hearts of every Assamese and music lover,” the Chief Minister said.

Sarma added that every melody created by Garg continues to bring back countless memories. Remembering the singer with deep respect, he said, “You are still with us from an unseen distance and will remain forever.”
