Guwahati, 19 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday congratulated Dr Dipjyoti Patgiri of Bajali after learning that the Assamese scientist has secured an opportunity to pursue research at the world-renowned NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

In a social media post, Sarma described the achievement as a matter of joy and pride for the people of Assam and praised Patgiri for his academic excellence, perseverance and dedication.

The Chief Minister noted that Patgiri began his education in an Assamese-medium school and said his achievement demonstrated that the medium of instruction could never be a barrier to fulfilling one's aspirations through education.

Sarma extended his best wishes to Patgiri for a bright future and expressed hope that his accomplishment would inspire Assam's young generation to pursue new dreams in science and research.

He also wished that Patgiri's achievement would further enhance Assam's presence on the global scientific stage.------------
