Guwahati, 19 September (HS): An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 jolted several parts of Assam on Saturday, triggering tremors across the state.

According to preliminary information, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in Bhutan. Tremors were felt in multiple areas of Assam, with residents reporting noticeable shaking.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage following the earthquake.------------
