
Bhubaneswar, 18 September (H.S.) : Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan has congratulated the scientists, researchers and team of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela after the institute’s indigenous chip designs were showcased among Made-in-India semiconductor innovations at SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi.
In a social media post, Pradhan described the achievement as a proud moment for Odisha and said the recognition reflected the strength of India’s academic institutions, the ingenuity of its researchers and the growing technological capabilities being developed within the country.
Pradhan said India is laying the foundations of a robust semiconductor ecosystem under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and through the efforts of Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
He congratulated the scientists, researchers and the entire NIT Rourkela team for their contribution to India’s semiconductor development. Pradhan said Odisha was proud to see its talent contributing to the country’s journey towards technological self-reliance.
