Goyal Appeals to People to Pray for PM Modi’s Good Health and Long Life
Mumbai, 18 Sept (HS): Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and MP from Mumbai North, Piyush Goyal, marked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday by lighting the “Aashirvad Ka Diya” at the historic Mandapeshwar Caves in Dahisar West under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Goyal was joined by more than 200 beneficiaries, who came together to offer their blessings and prayers for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.
The historic Mandapeshwar Caves illuminated with 5,100 diyas on the occasion out of which 76 were specially lit inside the temples, creating a symbolic tribute to the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday and his 25-year public leadership journey. The programme was organised as part of the month-long Seva Abhiyan from September 17 to October 17, marking the Prime Minister’s birthday along with Seva Diwas and Vishwakarma Jayanti. The celebrations brought together beneficiaries of various government welfare and development initiatives, reflecting the spirit of service and public participation.
Addressing the gathering, Goyal said Prime Minister Modi has always viewed his birthday as an occasion to intensify efforts towards public service rather than as a personal celebration. He said the overwhelming participation of beneficiaries at Mandapeshwar Caves reflected the affection and goodwill that the Prime Minister has earned through 25 years of public service.
“We are celebrating Seva Diwas and Vishwakarma Jayanti along with the birthday of our Prime Minister. Narendra Modi ji never celebrates his birthday; he believes that on this day we should do more work for the people. That is why we are observing a month-long Seva Abhiyan from September 17 to October 17, and today we have gathered here for ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’. The presence of so many people here tells us how much love and affection people have for Modi ji even after 25 years of his dedicated service. His thinking has always been positive, irrespective of the challenges around him, and his focus remains on doing more for the people, securing a bright future for our children and building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
Goyal said Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to public service has remained unwavering throughout his 25-year leadership journey, first as Chief Minister of Gujarat and subsequently as Prime Minister of India.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s 25-year public leadership journey, Piyush Goyal said: “For 25 years, Narendra Modi ji has dedicated himself completely to the service of the nation. His journey is a story of tireless hard work, determination and an unwavering commitment to taking India forward. From transforming Gujarat to leading the country on the global stage, Modi ji has demonstrated what committed leadership and a clear national vision can achieve.”
Goyal said that the Prime Minister’s sustained efforts have contributed to India emerging as one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. He said that India’s economic growth, expanding global footprint and growing confidence across sectors are increasingly being recognised internationally.
The Union Minister said that the occasion was not merely a birthday celebration but an opportunity to reaffirm the spirit of ‘seva’ and collective responsibility towards nation-building. The participation of beneficiaries, he said, reflected how government initiatives aimed at improving people's lives can become a source of hope, dignity and empowerment.
The Mandapeshwar Caves, one of Mumbai’s significant heritage sites, provided the setting for the symbolic lighting ceremony, bringing together the themes of heritage, service and aspirations for India’s future.
The “Aashirvad Ka Diya” initiative was organised as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, encouraging citizens to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday through acts of service, community participation and prayers for his well-being.
