Sambhajinagar, 18 Sept (HS): As many as five persons died in Chhatrapati

Sambhajinagar district as lightning struck in Dahigaon (Sillod Tehsil) and

Pishor (Kannad Tehsil) on Thursday.

A couple Manohar

Bhivsen Duche from Dahigaon along with his wife and son had gone to their farm

and took shelter in a hut due to rains. The lightning struck the hut and Dudhe

couple died on the spot.

Another incident

occurred in Pishor village around 2 pm, when three women farm labourer stood

under a tree during rains. The lightning struck the tree killing them.

Damini App: A mobile app ‘Damini’ is useful in forecasting

lightning strike as per GPS location. The likelihood of lightning striking the

area is predicted 15 to 40 minutes in advance. The app also informs about possibility

of lightning within a radius of 20 to 40 km.
