New Delhi, 18 September (H.S.): The first phase of voting for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections 2026-27 concluded on Friday, with students turning out to participate in the polling process across various colleges of the university. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) claimed that Delhi University students had voted in favour of social justice, equality and the democratic future of the university.

After the conclusion of polling, NSUI national president Vinod Jakhar said that despite what he described as considerable pressure from the university administration, police and the overall system, NSUI workers remained firmly engaged throughout the election process.

Jakhar said students had demonstrated clear support for social justice and equality. He expressed confidence that NSUI would secure decisive victories on all four seats and deliver what he described as a historic 4-0 result.

NSUI said Delhi University students were ready to reject what the organisation described as politics based on hatred, division and fear and work towards creating an inclusive campus for everyone.

The organisation reiterated that Delhi University belongs to its students and said it expected their mandate to reflect their demand for justice, equality and a better future.
