
New Delhi, 18 September (H.S.): To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey in public service as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma lit an ‘Aashirwad Ka Deep’ at the Civic Centre, headquarters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). On the occasion, she wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi a healthy, long and successful life.
Satya Sharma said the Civic Centre was illuminated in the colours of the national tricolour to mark the occasion. The MCD headquarters was seen glowing in tricolour lights. Various programmes will also be organised across Delhi to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service.
The Standing Committee chairperson said a range of public participation programmes would be organised to promote a sense of public service and responsibility towards society. Initiatives such as ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ will be used to encourage cleanliness, community service and citizen participation. In addition, various public welfare and service-oriented programmes will be conducted across different sectors to involve a larger section of society.
Satya Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey in public service has been marked by continued dedication to the development of the country and service to the people. She said lighting the ceremonial lamp on his birthday was a gesture of respect and that prayers were offered for his long and successful life.
She added that the service and public participation programmes being organised on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday aim to positively engage people from all sections of society and further strengthen the spirit of public service.
