Jammu, 18 September (H.S.): J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated a mega blood donation camp organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Jammu & Kashmir, at Red Cross Society Sarai, Maheshpura Chowk, here on Thursday , as part of the month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan' being undertaken to mark the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to commemorate his 25 years of public service.

The BJYM simultaneously organised blood donation camps across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, giving a Statewide expression to the spirit of Seva and youth participation in social service.

The Jammu camp was organised under the leadership of BJYM J&K president, Arun Prabhat. Sat Sharma was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, MLAs, Arvind Gupta and Mohan Lal Bhagat, BJP State general secretaries, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, district presidents, Rajesh Gupta and Rajeev Pandita, besides senior party leaders, BJYM functionaries and volunteers.

Sat Sharma said that voluntary blood donation represents one of the most meaningful forms of service, as donated blood can provide critical support to patients in emergencies and those undergoing medical treatment. He said that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan is aimed at translating the spirit of service into concrete activities that directly benefit society.

Seva is not merely a programme or an occasion; it is a responsibility towards society and the nation. Blood donation is a noble example of this responsibility, where a voluntary act can help save a precious human life. I appreciate the BJYM and the young volunteers across Jammu and Kashmir for coming forward in such large numbers and making this Statewide initiative meaningful, Sat Sharma added.

In the Kashmir division, the major camp was organised at SKIMS, Soura, under the leadership of BJYM J&K State general secretary. Majid Khan and was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP, Ghulam Ali Khatana. Similar camps were organised in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Budgam, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla.

Arun Prabhat said that the youth wing had undertaken the Statewide initiative to channel the energy of young people towards constructive social service. He said the enthusiastic participation of BJYM workers, youth volunteers and members of the public reflected the commitment of the younger generation towards social responsibility.

The camps witnessed enthusiastic participation, with volunteers donating blood for patients requiring transfusions and emergency medical assistance. The initiative reaffirmed the BJP and BJYM's emphasis on taking the message of Seva to the grassroots through meaningful public-oriented activities.

Another camp of blood donation was organised at Gajansoo Marh under the leadership of senior BJP leader and former Minister, Ch Sukhnandan.

Meanwhile Mata Vaishnodevi Pujaris held special prayer meeting during Atka Arti in the shrine this evening.

At Hanuman Mandir Srinagar BJP leaders led by Ashok Bhat former district president performed Rudhara Abhisheikh and prayed Lord Shiva to bless PM Modi who is tirelessly working for the development of the nation and betterment of its people.
