Kolkata, 17 September (H.S.): On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday on Thursday, a full life-size wax statue of him was unveiled at the Bharatiya Janata Party state headquarters in Salt Lake, Kolkata.

Along with the rest of the country, various special programs are being organized by the party in West Bengal to mark the Prime Minister's birthday. As part of these events, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and state president Shamik Bhattacharya unveiled the wax statue at the Salt Lake party office.

Speaking on the occasion, Shamik Bhattacharya stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been enhancing the pride of the nation by holding top administrative posts for 25 consecutive years. He noted that the Prime Minister gave direction to Gujarat and has been continuously leading the country since 2014.

Regarding the statue, Bhattacharya clarified that no official order was placed by the party for its creation. Instead, renowned sculptor Sushant Roy crafted it on his own as a mark of respect and honor for the Prime Minister, gifting it to the party to make the historic day memorable.

Addressing political issues during the event, the BJP leader said that the resolve to eradicate Maoism from its roots and completely isolate extremists from the public is being fulfilled to ensure that the pace of development in remote and backward areas does not stop. He also delivered a strong message to anti-national forces, asserting that those who speak of dividing the country will not be spared under any circumstances.

Taking aim at the internal developments within the Trinamool Congress, Bhattacharya remarked that currently, there is only a struggle for internal dominance and control over bank accounts going on within the TMC, which the public is watching like a spectacle. He added that the grassroots existence of that organization is rapidly disintegrating.

A nationwide 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' is being launched across the country starting from the Prime Minister's birthday until October 17. As part of this campaign, lamps will be lit at various ghats of the river Ganges this evening as a gesture of seeking blessings and praying for the long life and good health of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
