Prayagraj, 17 Sept (HS): The ongoing movement in Prayagraj

seeking due honour for Amar Balidani and revolutionary freedom fighter Shaheed

Thakur Roshan Singh, preservation of his legacy and development of his

martyrdom site reached an important milestone on Monday. During Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath’s visit to the Allahabad High Court, representatives associated

with the movement, along with members of civil society, strongly placed their

demands before the Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum.

The movement has been continuing for nearly three months at

the martyrdom site of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh, located within the premises

of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. As part of the movement, a 13-day sit-in

protest was also organised.

The Sanatan Rakshak Sena, Akhil Kshatriya Mahasabha, and

members of civil society have actively participated in the movement. The

principal demand of the protesters is that Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital be

renamed after Amar Balidani Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh, and that his martyrdom

site be developed and beautified in a dignified and befitting manner, so that

future generations continue to remember his supreme sacrifice and contribution

to the nation.

In connection with the demand, former Cabinet Minister

Siddharth Nath Singh had also assured the protesters that the demand regarding

the honour of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh and the renaming of the hospital

would be conveyed to the government and that efforts would be made in this

direction.

Meanwhile, Om Prakash Rajbhar, National President of the

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and Cabinet Minister in the Uttar Pradesh

Government, also assured the protesters that the matter concerning the honour

of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh would be raised prominently in the Legislative

Assembly and brought to the attention of the government. He stated that he and

his party stood firmly in support of the cause.

On 9 September, City North MLA Harshvardhan Bajpai also

visited the protest site. He spoke of constructing a grand entrance gate in the

name of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh, installing a large statue of the

revolutionary and naming a prominent building within the hospital premises

after him. He further emphasised that his life, struggle and sacrifice should

be included in books so that his memory reaches future generations. He also

called for the establishment of a museum on the premises and beautification of

the martyrdom site.

Chail MLA Pooja Pal also expressed her support for the

demand to honour Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh.

Continuing these efforts, the issue concerning the honour

and preservation of the legacy of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh was strongly

placed before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit to the Allahabad

High Court on Monday.

Those present on the occasion included Birendra Singh,

journalist, National General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Sanatan Rakshak

Sena; Manish Tiwari, Advocate, State General Secretary; Vivek Vats, National

Co-Coordinator; Raj Kumar Singh, Advocate, former Treasurer of the High Court

Bar Association and Prayagraj Mandal President of the Akhil Kshatriya

Mahasabha; Anil Singh, Metropolitan President of the Akhil Kshatriya Mahasabha;

Shiv Sagar Singh, Vice-President, Prayagraj Mandal; Dr K.P. Singh, President of

Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Kashi Province; and Advocate Utpal Singh Parashar, along

with representatives of civil society and hundreds of advocates.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister,

urging the government to take concrete steps, keeping in view the historic

contribution and supreme sacrifice of Amar Balidani Thakur Roshan Singh. The

delegation specifically sought the renaming of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital

after him and the development and preservation of his martyrdom site and

legacy.

Following the submission of the memorandum to the Chief

Minister, those associated with the movement are now awaiting further action

and a decision from the government. The protesters expressed hope that the

government would take a positive initiative regarding the demand to honour

Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh and preserve his historic legacy, and that his

martyrdom site would be developed in a manner that inspires generations to

come.
