
Delhi, 17 September (H.S.): The Central government on Thursday formally launched the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign 2026. Aimed at promoting cleanliness and greater public participation, the campaign will continue until October 2.
According to the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment Sudhanshu Pant administered the cleanliness pledge to all officers and employees during the inauguration of the campaign.
Along with the headquarters, officers and employees at subordinate offices, autonomous institutions and organisations under the department across the country also took the cleanliness pledge at their respective workplaces. The commitment includes undertaking 100 hours of voluntary labour every year, pledging to combat uncleanliness and spreading awareness among the public.
On the occasion, it was emphasised that the foundation for creating clean workplaces, towns, villages and a cleaner nation rests on sustained individual efforts and active community participation.
