
Sribhumi (Assam), 17 September (HS): In a serious case involving police personnel, two constables have been arrested in Assam’s Sribhumi district for allegedly kidnapping a person and looting ₹14 lakh, officials said.
Police launched an operation following the incident and arrested constables Anowar Hussain and Sajal Suklabaidya for their alleged involvement in the crime. The case also names sub-inspector Langthaiba Sinha, who is reportedly absconding and is currently being sought by the police.
According to the allegations, the police personnel had allegedly abducted a person and subsequently taken away ₹14 lakh. The arrests were made as part of the investigation, while efforts are underway to trace the absconding sub-inspector.
