Siliguri, 17 September (H.S.): A special ‘Passenger Service Campaign’ was launched at Bagdogra Airport on Wednesday on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign will continue from September 17 to October 10.

Organised under the directions of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the campaign aims to further improve passenger services, enhance safety and convenience, and create greater awareness among travellers. Bagdogra Airport Director Naved Nazim issued a press release outlining the details of the campaign.

According to the airport authorities, a series of programmes and service-oriented initiatives will be undertaken during the campaign with a focus on passenger convenience. Bagdogra Airport serves as a key air connectivity hub for North Bengal, Sikkim and the northeastern region, making passenger-oriented services particularly important for travellers from these areas.

As part of the initiative, the cultural heritage of various tribal communities and other communities of North Bengal and the Himalayan region will also be showcased through different programmes.

Similar special programmes have also been announced at Kolkata and other major government-run airports across the country. The 24-day programme will begin on September 17 with ‘Sankalp Evam Seva Diwas’. Cultural programmes and special arrangements to welcome passengers will form part of the celebrations.
