New Delhi, 17 September (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties extended heartfelt birthday greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

President Murmu wrote on X, “Heartiest birthday greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Modi. Over the past 25 years, during your tenure as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, you have established several new benchmarks in good governance and given unprecedented momentum and a new direction to inclusive development. Moving towards modern progress with a sense of cultural pride, our citizens are realising the harmonious integration of heritage and development. I pray to God for your good health and long life so that you may continue to advance your mission of public service and nation-building.”

The Vice President said that under Prime Minister Modi’s firm and visionary leadership, India is emerging as a shining star in the world and as one of the fastest-growing major economies. He said more than 250 million Indians have been lifted out of extreme poverty. A transformative digital revolution has empowered millions, while significant progress has been made across sectors ranging from space, technology and healthcare to infrastructure and manufacturing. He said the designation of backward districts as “Aspirational Districts,” border villages as “Vibrant and First Villages,” and the Northeast as “Ashtalakshmi” reflects the Prime Minister’s visionary approach. According to him, this approach has transformed geographically disadvantaged areas into centres of empowerment, enabling people from different regions to actively participate in the journey towards a “Developed India.”

Birla said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is confidently establishing a new identity on the global stage. He said the country is continuously setting new benchmarks in development, self-reliance, innovation, digital progress, infrastructure expansion and public welfare. He said Modi’s more than 25 years of public life have contributed significantly to the promotion of democratic values and the welfare of vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society. He added that the Prime Minister’s dedicated public life inspires millions of citizens to continue working towards the goal of a developed India. He prayed to God to bless Modi with good health, longevity and the strength to continue serving the nation.

Rajnath Singh said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is moving towards the goal of a “Developed India” with full confidence. He said that from infrastructure to digital connectivity and from the welfare of the poor to innovation and entrepreneurship, the country has made historic and notable progress across sectors. He said citizens’ lives have become easier, opportunities have expanded and efforts are being made to ensure a life of dignity for every citizen.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Modi, who has made dedication to work a form of spiritual practice and national service the purpose of his life, represents a story of austerity, sacrifice and unwavering resolve. He said Modi’s journey of service and dedication is an inspiration to millions of citizens. Shah prayed for the Prime Minister’s long life and good health and expressed hope that under his leadership, the country would attain new heights of progress and continue advancing towards achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who has worked continuously for more than five decades for the welfare of citizens with the inspiration of “Nation First,” he wished for the complete eradication of fear, hunger and corruption from the country, for India to become self-reliant and for the nation to regain its position as a “Vishwaguru.” He also prayed for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said he wished Prime Minister Modi good health and a long life, adding that Modi is leading everyone towards a developed India.

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said Prime Minister Modi is a leader whose firm resolve, unwavering courage and dedication to public service have shaped India’s development journey and the vision of a self-reliant and developed India.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi.
