Sambhajinagar, 17 Sept (HS): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hoisted

the flag in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Thursday to mark the Marathwada

Liberation Day. He laid floral wreath at Martyrs memorial on the occasion.

Speaking on the

occasion, Fadnavis said efforts are being made to prevent drought in future.

This year too, the long break by rains created the situation. The NDRF will

start survey of the drought-affected after October 5 and the State Government

is always with the farmers with full strength.

With the loan

waiver about 15 lakh farmers are freed from any kind of loans. The pending

power bills worth Rs 48,000 crore have also been waived. With linking of rivers

project Marathwada will be free from drought in the near future. The Detailed

Project Report (DPR) is in the final stages. The state government is also

planning to make available 30 TMC water to Marathwada from rivers in Konkan

region.

Fadnavis

expressed happiness over Maratha Activist Manoj Jarange ending his fast. The

Government had requested him to end the fast as 12 out of 13 have already been

accepted and the legal stability of the 13th is being verified.

Fadnavis also

stated that various development projects in Marathwada are in progress.
