Bhubaneswar, 17 September (H.S.) : The Central government has accepted the resignation of 2013-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer Jagmohan Meena, who was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Bhubaneswar.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the President has accepted Meena’s resignation from the Indian Police Service with effect from September 11, 2026.

Meena had submitted his resignation in July, citing personal reasons. The resignation was subsequently forwarded by the Odisha government to the Centre for consideration.

Following his decision to quit the service, Meena had said that he took the decision after discussions with his family and friends. He also expressed gratitude to the government and people of Odisha for giving him the opportunity to serve in different capacities.

“I consider myself fortunate that I got the opportunity to serve in Odisha in various capacities. I thank the government and the people of Odisha for the opportunity. The people of Odisha are good, and I love to work with them. May the blessings of Lord Jagannath be upon me,” Meena had said.

A 2013-batch IPS officer, Meena assumed charge as the DCP of Bhubaneswar on February 28, 2025. Before his posting in the state capital, he served as DCP of Cuttack and Superintendent of Police in Angul and Ganjam districts.
