
Guwahati, 17 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the dreams of the state’s youth represent the potential of building a new Assam. He said the government seeks to encourage young people to stand on their own feet, establish enterprises and create employment opportunities for others.
Addressing an event at Khanapara on Thursday, Sarma highlighted the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan, describing it as a special initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship among Assam’s youth.
The Chief Minister said he was pleased to be part of the occasion where financial assistance of more than ₹278 crore was extended to 82,219 young entrepreneurs under the first and second phases of the initiative.
Sarma said Assam’s youth power would remain the biggest strength behind the vision of a self-reliant Assam. He urged young entrepreneurs to move forward with confidence and assured them of the state government’s continued support.------------
