Imphal, 17 September (H.S.): A joint team of Heirok Police Station and troops of the 10th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered arms and ammunition from Heirok Part-III Uyok Ching Mamang in Thoubal district of Manipur, police said on Thursday.

According to Manipur Police, the recovery was made during a joint operation conducted by the police and BSF personnel in the area.

The seized items included one double-barrel breech-loading (DBBL) gun, one country-made rifle along with a magazine, and 20 live rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition.

Police said further investigation into the recovery and the source of the weapons and ammunition is underway.------------
