
New Delhi, 16 September (H.S.): Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan will visit Telangana on Thursday and attend the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations in Hyderabad as the chief guest.
According to the Vice-President’s Secretariat, the celebrations will be held at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad. The Vice-President will attend the programme as the chief guest, while Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will participate as the guest of honour.
Hyderabad Liberation Day is observed on September 17 to commemorate the integration of the erstwhile Hyderabad State into the Indian Union in 1948. In 1948, the Indian Army undertook military action under ‘Operation Polo’, following which the Hyderabad State was integrated into the Indian Union.
