Nagaon (Assam), 16 September (HS): The nomination filing process for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election will come to an end on Wednesday, with candidates from the major political parties set to submit their papers.

BJP candidate Debashis Sharma is scheduled to file his nomination papers today. Congress candidate Shivamoni Bora and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal are also expected to submit their nomination papers on the final day of the nomination process.

The Nagaon Lok Sabha seat has been lying vacant following the resignation of former Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi. The by-election is scheduled to be held on October 6, while counting of votes will take place on October 9.-----------
