Bumthang, 16 September (H.S.): External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar arrived in Bumthang on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Bhutan. During his visit, he met with Bhutan’s Foreign Minister Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel and reviewed cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on social media platform X that he held comprehensive discussions with Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel on bilateral cooperation and expressed his gratitude for his counterpart’s hospitality in Bumthang, Bhutan’s spiritual and historic centre.

He said the two leaders discussed ways to further advance the development partnership between the two countries, as well as cooperation in energy, trade, connectivity, culture and people-to-people ties.
