Guwahati, 16 September (HS): Police have apprehended an alleged habitual motorcycle thief in connection with Hatigaon Police Station Case No. 211/2026, registered under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Md. Riazul Islam, son of Aminul Islam, a resident of Tulsibari under Rangia Police Station in Kamrup district, who was presently residing at Sundarban Nagar under Hatigaon Police Station in Kamrup (Metro) district.

According to police, Islam was apprehended from his residence at Sundarban Nagar along with a stolen Hero Xtreme 125R ABS motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-GN-2285. The motorcycle was allegedly stolen from Sundar Path, Dot Bazar, on September 14, 2026.

Police said the accused has been arrested in connection with the case and will be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court on Wednesday.-------------
