Nagaon (Assam), 16 September (HS): BJP candidate Debashis Sharma on Wednesday described the filing of his nomination papers for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election as an important and emotional moment in his life. After submitting his nomination papers, Sharma said the day was one of great pride for him and that the atmosphere was filled with emotion.

Reflecting on his political journey, Sharma said there was a time when he had received a nomination, while today he had come forward to formally submit his nomination papers for the Nagaon by-election. He made the remarks after completing the nomination process in Nagaon.

Sharma is the BJP's candidate for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, which was necessitated by the vacancy of the seat following Pradyut Bordoloi's exit from the Congress. The nomination filing marks a key step in the electoral process ahead of the bypoll.----------
