More than 600 companies, including representatives from 52 countries, to participate

New Delhi, September 16 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day international conference and exhibition ‘Semicon India 2026’ at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi at around 10 a.m. on Thursday. The Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion. The conference, being held from September 17 to 19, has the theme ‘Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem’.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), policymakers, investors, researchers, startups, academic institutions and students, along with global and Indian industries associated with the semiconductor and electronics value chains, will come together on a common platform at the conference. The event aims to promote collaboration, investment and innovation in India while accelerating the development of a skilled workforce for the semiconductor sector.

Parallel sessions will be organised on technological advancements in the semiconductor sector as well as the display industry. Roundtable meetings involving six countries will be held to promote strategic partnerships and joint ventures. In addition, a special session focusing on women in leadership will also be organised.

‘Semicon India 2026’ will provide an integrated showcase of all major stages of the semiconductor value chain. It will cover the entire journey, from semiconductor materials and equipment to chip design, fabrication, advanced packaging, electronics and integrated systems. A special ‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ value-chain experience centre has been created to showcase this complete journey.

According to the organisers, more than 600 companies, including representatives from 52 countries, will participate in the conference. Around 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the event. In addition, more than 400 senior executives and over 150 speakers will share their views across various technical and strategic sessions.

The exhibition will feature dedicated country pavilions from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden. In addition, booths from 12 states, a startup pavilion, an innovation showcase, a student hackathon and a workforce development pavilion will also form part of the conference.
