
Jorhat (Assam), 16 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was conferred the ‘Satra Sarathi Award’ by the All Assam Satra Mahasabha and All Assam Namghar Mahasabha in recognition of his contribution to the state’s socio-cultural and religious institutions.
Sarma received the honour at the Jorhat Conference Centre, where he interacted with people from different sections of society after attending various programmes during the day.
In a social media post on Wednesday, the Chief Minister described the interaction as a “special moment” and said such engagements provide an opportunity to understand the problems, expectations and suggestions of people. He said working for the people, finding solutions to their problems and incorporating their suggestions into governance remain his responsibility, which he would continue to discharge with sincerity.------------
