Guwahati, September 15 (HS): The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on Tuesday conducted a search operation at a five-storey under-construction building in Golaghat town in connection with the case involving Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer Deveswar Bora.

The operation was carried out at Chandan Nagar in Ward No. 11 of Golaghat town. According to the information available, the under-construction building is registered in the name of Bora’s wife, and the property has emerged as a link in the ongoing vigilance investigation against the officer.

Bora, who was serving as the District Development Commissioner of Dhemaji, was arrested by the vigilance authorities on September 7 in connection with the case. Following his arrest, vigilance teams had also conducted a search at his residential premises in Guwahati.

The latest operation in Golaghat is part of the continuing investigation into the assets and alleged irregularities linked to the ACS officer. Further details of the search and any seizure or findings are awaited.-----------
