Kozhikode, 15 September (H.S.):Traffic restrictions will be imposed across Kozhikode city from 3 pm to 10 pm on Tuesday in connection with the CPM's mass rally at Freedom Square on the beach. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter the beach area after 3 pm, police said.

Special arrangements have been made for vehicles bringing participants to the rally. Vehicles arriving from the Elathur side should proceed beneath the Vengali bridge through Puthiyappa and Bhatt Road Beach. Passengers must be dropped at Gandhi Road Junction, after which the vehicles should be parked along Bhatt Road Beach Road.

Vehicles coming from Perambra, Balussery, Thamarassery, Kunnamangalam, Thiruvambady and Kakkodi should travel through Kannur Road and Christian College Junction. After dropping passengers near the flyover, the vehicles must proceed through Nadakkavu and Eranhipalam and park on the ground near the Sarovaram Trade Centre on PWD Road.

Vehicles from Feroke, Ramanattukara and Beypore should travel through Pushpa Junction and the AKG flyover. Participants should be dropped near Hotel Sea Queen, following which the vehicles must return and park at Kothi South Beach.

Police have also instructed some vehicles to drop passengers at Christian College Junction and proceed through Ashokapuram to Peavees Ground, located opposite Sarovaram Road, for parking.

As parking is prohibited along major roads in the city, motorists have been warned against leaving vehicles on roadsides or at other restricted locations. Goods vehicles will be completely barred from entering the beach area during the restrictions.

Passengers travelling to Kozhikode airport or railway station have been advised to begin their journeys early, taking the anticipated congestion and diversions into account.

The traffic restrictions and diversions will remain in force until 10 pm. In case of emergencies, the public may contact the police helplines at 0495-2721017 or 9497975656.

City Police Commissioner A.P. Shoukath Ali urged motorists to strictly follow police directions and cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements.
