Milan, 15 September (H.S.): Defending champions Inter Milan produced a remarkable comeback from two goals down to defeat Udinese 5-3 on Monday, maintaining their perfect record in Serie A. The victory leaves Inter joint top of the table with Roma, with both sides having collected 12 points from four matches.

Inter made a disastrous start to the game. James Abankwah and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp scored within the opening 16 minutes to give Udinese a 2-0 lead and put Inter under significant pressure.

Carlos Augusto then began Inter’s comeback with a superb long-range strike. Nicolo Barella equalised 10 minutes before half-time to bring the score level at 2-2.

Inter took complete control after the break. Marcus Thuram scored in the 59th minute to give his side the lead for the first time. Francesco Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bonny then added further goals to extend Inter’s advantage to 5-2. Idrissa Gueye pulled one back for Udinese in stoppage time, but his goal was not enough to prevent defeat.

Roma Maintain Perfect Record

Roma also maintained their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Torino, securing their fourth consecutive win. Donyell Malen and Niccolo Pisilli scored for Roma. Malen opened the scoring after capitalising on a defensive error by goalkeeper Lucas Peri.

Pisilli sealed the victory late in the match by converting a pass from Gianluca Mancini. Roma also have 12 points from four matches. Inter and Roma will next face each other at the Stadio Olimpico.

Como Move into Third Place

In another fixture, Como defeated Parma 2-1 to move into third place in the standings. Jacobo Ramon and Assane Diao scored for Como. The victory came after Como had secured a midweek win in the UEFA Champions League.
