Nagaon (Assam), 15 September (HS): Assam Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research Minister Ashok Singhal on Tuesday inspected the Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Nagaon district and reviewed the healthcare services and infrastructure available at the facility.

During the visit, Singhal inspected the outpatient department, X-ray, CT scan and laboratory facilities and took stock of the services being provided to patients. He also interacted with doctors, administrative officials and healthcare workers to understand patient load, existing facilities and requirements for improving service delivery.

The minister stressed the need to ensure timely, accessible and quality healthcare for patients visiting the hospital. He discussed with officials measures required to further strengthen medical services and improve patient care.

Singhal also inspected the ongoing construction of a new 150-bed wing at the hospital and reviewed its progress. He directed that the construction be carried out according to prescribed standards and within the stipulated timeframe.

The new wing is expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to admit and treat patients and provide specialised healthcare services to people from Kaliabor and adjoining areas.

Joint Director of Health Services Dr Pancham Kumar Bora, the Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Medical and Health Officer, Assam Tree Plantation and Crop Development Corporation chairman Manimadhav Mahanta, along with health department officials, doctors, healthcare workers and other dignitaries, were present during the inspection.----------
