Guwahati, 15 September (HS): Congress candidate for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election Shivamoni Bora thanked Assam Congress President MP Gaurav Gogoi through a social media post after being named the party’s candidate for the upcoming election.

Bora asserted that she would be the “factor” in Nagaon and expressed confidence in securing victory in the by-election. “I am the factor in Nagaon,” she said, adding that she was 100% confident of winning the election.

Bora’s remarks came after the Congress finalised her candidature for the Nagaon seat, which fell vacant following Pradyut Bordoloi’s exit from the party. The by-election is scheduled to be held on October 6, with counting of votes set for October 9.----------
