Bhubaneswar, 15 September (H.S.) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising a month-long nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17, the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to commemorate his 25 years of public service and highlight the transformation witnessed in Gujarat and across the country.

As part of the campaign, 30 BJP Yuva Morcha workers from Odisha, under the guidance of state president Abhilash Panda, will travel by train from Bhubaneswar to Varanasi and subsequently undertake a journey to Vadnagar. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday flagged off the group from Bhubaneswar.

Speaking on the occasion, Parida said the youths from different districts of Odisha would participate in the 25-day programme and gain first-hand experience of India’s development journey through cultural exchange and field visits.

She said the youths would witness how Gujarat and the country have transformed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life and leadership. They would also observe changes in people’s lifestyles, the growing spirit of self-reliance among young people and India’s emergence as a major engine of global growth.

Parida said the participants would return with renewed enthusiasm and a fresh resolve to contribute to the building of a developed India. She added that the journey would provide young people with new experiences, hope and inspiration during the Amrit Kaal, while also helping them develop leadership capabilities and prepare themselves for greater responsibilities in public life.

State Yuva Morcha president Abhilash Panda said several programmes would be organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with the Varanasi-to-Vadnagar journey being one of the key initiatives. The nearly 1,800-km journey will focus on three guiding themes — ‘Jal, Jan and Seva’ (water, people and service).

Panda said 30 youths from Odisha have been included in the delegation, which is being led by Yuva Morcha state secretary Soumyaranjan Nayak. The group paid obeisance to Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar before proceeding to Varanasi.

The journey will cover the route from the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi to the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. Panda said the initiative would provide the participating youths with a new perspective and direction in life while generating fresh hope and energy for the vision of a developed India.
