
Kolkata, 15 September (H.S.): With only a few days left for Durga Puja, the expected autumn skies have yet to make an appearance in West Bengal. Instead, monsoon clouds continue to dominate the sky. According to the Meteorological Department, although the southwest monsoon is gradually preparing to withdraw, rainfall is likely to continue for some more time.
Light to moderate rain is expected in Kolkata and several parts of south Bengal, while heavy rainfall has been forecast in north Bengal.
Kolkata witnessed bright sunshine from Tuesday morning. The Meteorological Department said there is little possibility of heavy rainfall in the city for now. However, isolated areas may receive light and scattered showers during the day.
According to the tide schedule for Tuesday, high tide is expected at 11:53 am, followed by low tide at 3:02 pm. Another high tide is expected at 12:05 am, followed by low tide at 3:21 am.
