Bhubaneswar, 15 September (H.S.): The Odisha BJP has reacted to the proposed visit of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the state, with party spokesperson Anil Biswal asserting that the visit would have no impact on Odisha’s political landscape.

Biswal said Rahul Gandhi’s visit might boost the morale of some Congress workers, but it would not influence the state’s voters. He claimed that the people of Odisha had not forgotten the Congress’ previous tenure in the state.

He said the Congress’ declining electoral performance over the past several elections was evidence of its weakening political base. He also alleged that internal factionalism within the party had further weakened its organisational position.

The BJP spokesperson said a visit by a senior national leader alone could not strengthen the Congress’ political position in the state.
