New Delhi, 15 September (H.S.): VFS Global has announced the expansion of South Korea’s visa services in South Asia with the launch of six Korea Visa Application Centres across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In addition to New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata in India, Korea Visa Application Centres have also been launched in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Colombo, Sri Lanka. The newly established centre in New Delhi was inaugurated on Tuesday by Republic of Korea Ambassador to India Lee Seong-ho.

VFS Global said it has been providing visa-related services to the Government of the Republic of Korea in India since 2011. The new centre will provide applicants with a more convenient and personalised facility for submitting their visa applications. With the launch of the centres in Dhaka and Colombo, the number of Korea Visa Application Centres operated by VFS Global across South Asia has risen to six.

Speaking on the occasion, Republic of Korea Ambassador Lee Seong-ho said the new centre marks an important step towards further strengthening relations between India and Korea. He said the initiative aims to provide applicants with a smooth, efficient and convenient visa application experience. He also expressed his intention to further strengthen cooperation with VFS Global to facilitate travel between the two countries and promote broader people-to-people exchanges.

Yummi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer for South Asia at VFS Global, said access to six Korea Visa Application Centres across three countries marks a significant milestone in the company’s partnership with the Republic of Korea. She said it also reflects the growing demand for Korean visas across the region. Through modern facilities and trained teams, the company is working to make the application process smoother and more convenient for applicants.

According to the company, its role in the visa application process is limited to administrative functions. These include collecting application forms and supporting documents and capturing biometric information. The decision to grant or refuse a visa rests solely with the concerned embassy, which bears full responsibility for the decision. VFS Global has no role in the visa decision-making process.

According to VFS Global, the company currently provides services to 71 client governments and operates more than 4,200 centres across 170 countries.
