New Delhi, 15 September (H.S.): l Union Minister of State and Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Harsh Malhotra expressed happiness over the victory of around 4,200 BJP candidates in the Rajasthan municipal elections. He described the electoral success as a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and good governance.
Speaking to reporters at the Delhi BJP office on Tuesday, Harsh Malhotra said the results of the Rajasthan municipal elections were announced on Monday, the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, and the BJP secured a major victory. He said the outcome once again demonstrated the people’s faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Harsh Malhotra said Rajasthan had a democratic tradition of electing a large number of independent candidates in municipal elections. However, this time, the people of Rajasthan had created a new chapter in electoral history by electing around 4,200 BJP candidates to local bodies.
The Delhi BJP president said whether it was the BJP securing a majority in the municipal corporation in Kota, an emerging city with a large young population, or the party’s victory in the state capital Jaipur, the results made it clear that despite the alleged conspiracies being carried out jointly by opposition political parties, the country’s youth, educated sections, business community and, particularly, women continued to stand with the BJP and would continue to do so in the future.
