Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attended Ganesh Utsav at the residence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi.
PM Modi offered prayers to Lord Ganesha and took part in the aarti during the celebration. He joined Goyal and others present at the residence for the festival.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across India to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha. Devotees offer prayers and take part in various religious and cultural programmes during the festival.
The festival is celebrated on a large scale in Maharashtra and is also observed in many other parts of the country.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi greeted people on Ganesh Chaturthi and wished everyone happiness, peace and prosperity.
