New Delhi, 14 September (H.S.): Indian Naval Ship (INS) Mysore concluded its participation in the fourth edition of Exercise Samudra Laksamana with the Royal Malaysian Navy at Lumut, Malaysia, held from September 9 to 12, 2026, as part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment.

The exercise provided an opportunity for the Indian Navy and the Royal Malaysian Navy to undertake a wide range of professional and operational activities. During the harbour phase, personnel from both navies engaged in professional exchanges and interactions, facilitating the sharing of operational experiences and strengthening mutual understanding.

The exercise subsequently moved into the operational phase at sea, where INS Mysore conducted exercises with Royal Malaysian Navy ships KD Lekir and KD Gagah Samudera. The participating vessels carried out coordinated maritime manoeuvres aimed at enhancing interoperability, improving operational coordination and strengthening their ability to operate together effectively.

The successful completion of the exercise reflects the growing depth of naval cooperation between India and Malaysia. It also underlines the importance of sustained professional engagement and practical cooperation in developing greater operational understanding between the two maritime forces.

Exercise Samudra Laksamana marks another significant milestone in the expanding India-Malaysia maritime partnership. Building on recent bilateral engagements, including the 12th India-Malaysia Sub Committee Meeting held on July 1, 2026, the exercise has further strengthened the foundations of cooperation between the two navies.
