
Howrah, 14 September (H.S.): A dignified programme for the reading of the official language messages of the Railway Minister and the General Manager, Eastern Railway, was organised at the conference hall of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office in Howrah on Monday.
The programme was attended by officers and employees of the Howrah Division, who participated with enthusiasm.
The programme began with the reading of the Railway Minister’s inspirational message on the official language by the Divisional Railway Manager. This was followed by the reading of the General Manager, Eastern Railway’s message by the Additional Chief Official Language Officer and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Administration), Howrah.
Through their messages, emphasis was laid on promoting the wider use of Hindi as the official language, facilitating its use in official correspondence and maintaining its importance and dignity in day-to-day official work.
A key highlight of the programme was the screening of a short video showcasing official language competitions and various Hindi-related activities organised at different stations and offices under the Howrah Division.
The Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), along with senior officials from various departments of the division, was also present on the occasion. Their participation added to the significance of the programme.
The event was described as an important initiative reflecting the Howrah Division’s commitment to promoting Hindi as the official language and encouraging its wider use in official activities.
