Guwahati, 14 September (HS): Pratim Lahkar, an Assamese residing abroad who was present with singer Zubeen Garg at the yacht party at the time of death, said he was unaware that the singer was unwell at the time. Lahkar said that had he known about Garg’s health condition, he would have stopped him from entering the water.

“Although I was present at the yacht party, I did not know that Zubeen Garg was unwell. Had I known about his condition, I would have prevented him from getting into the water,” Lahkar said.

He further stated that Garg received medical attention at the initial stage. Lahkar’s remarks came while speaking about the circumstances surrounding Garg’s presence at the yacht party and the events that followed.------------
