Hindi will progress with dedication and determination: Prof.

Surya Prasad Dixit

Prayagraj/Wardha, 14 Sept (HS): In a special lecture on the

constitutional status of Hindi and current technological challenges organised

on the occasion of Hindi Day at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University

on Monday, retired head of the Hindi department of Lucknow University, Prof.

Surya Prasad Dixit said that only with inner devotion and determination can the

progress of Hindi language be given further impetus. A special lecture was

organised by the Hindi Literature Department of the University in the Mahadevi

Verma Auditorium under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumud Sharma.

In his online lecture, Prof. Dixit stated that Hindi is the

language of creation, business, technology, and governance. He added that after

the regulations were enacted on September 14, 1950, the goal was to make Hindi

comprehensive within fifteen years. Commissions and offices were established to

achieve this goal, but the desired results were not achieved. In an era of

changing technology, changes to the provisions of the Act are necessary. He

stated that Unicode has greatly helped Hindi progress. We must move Hindi

forward with integrity. Expressing the need for an independent language

ministry, he said that the loss of a language leads to the loss of a culture,

and therefore, it is essential to create an independent ministry to preserve languages.

He also highlighted the technological challenges facing Hindi.

In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Professor Kumud

Sharma stated that we need to abandon our fascination with English and

cultivate confidence, self-confidence, and self-respect, making Hindi more capable

in this technological era. She emphasized that simplicity in language enhances

its speed. We should use words that are common in everyday life. She emphasized

that language progress is possible only through inner commitment and

determination. She called for promoting Hindi in government offices through

original work.

The welcome address for the program was delivered by

Professor Preeti Sagar, Chairperson of the Hindi Literature Department. She

said that our university is committed to promoting Hindi globally. In this

direction, we must work responsibly to bring Hindi to the global stage.

The program was conducted by Dr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant

Professor, Department of Hindi Literature, and Dr. Ashok Nath Tripathi,

Associate Professor, offered the vote of thanks. The program began with the

lighting of lamps and the singing of the college song. Present on the occasion

were Prof. Janardan Kumar Tiwari, Dr. H.A. Hungund, Dr. Ramanuj Asthana, Dr.

Rupesh Kumar Singh, Dr. Shailesh Marji Kadam, Dr. Komal Kumar Pardesi, Dr. Ravi

Kumar, Dr. Amit Vishwas, B.S. Mirge, and a large number of researchers and

students.
