Guwahati, 14 September (HS): Hindi Fortnight commenced at the headquarters of the 1st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, on Monday under the guidance of Sunil Kaushik, Commandant, 1st Battalion SSB Sonapur. Deputy Commandant Virendra Singh Mehra was also present on the occasion.

During the programme, Mehra read out the message of the Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal, Force Headquarters, New Delhi, and addressed the officers and personnel of the battalion.

Emphasising the importance of Hindi as the Official Language, Mehra urged all ranks to make maximum use of Hindi in official correspondence and routine office work. He said wider use of Hindi in official functioning would strengthen the implementation of the Official Language policy and further promote the spirit of Rajbhasha Hindi within the organisation.

The programme concluded with an appeal to all personnel to actively contribute towards promoting Hindi and ensuring its wider use in official work.----------
