New Delhi, 14 September (H.S.): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other prominent leaders on Monday extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of Hindi Day. Describing Hindi as a powerful expression of India’s culture, civilisation and life values, the leaders called for making the language stronger and more effective in the fields of knowledge, science, technology and innovation.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended his greetings to the people on Hindi Day and said that Hindi is not merely a language, but a powerful expression of India’s culture, civilisation and life values. He said Hindi plays an important role in weaving the country’s diversity into a common thread of unity.

Om Birla said that enhancing the stature of Hindi is a way of honouring the country’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage. He appealed to people to resolve to preserve, promote and propagate Hindi. He also stressed the need to further strengthen Hindi in the fields of knowledge, science, technology and innovation.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended his greetings to the people on Hindi Day. He said Hindi is a powerful expression of India’s culture, civilisation and life values. The language serves to bind the country’s diversity together in a spirit of unity.

The Defence Minister said that enhancing the stature of Hindi is a mark of respect for India’s linguistic and cultural heritage. Along with preserving, promoting and propagating Hindi, collective efforts should be made to make the language more effective in the fields of knowledge, science, technology and innovation, he said.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said Hindi, as the official language of the Union, is playing an important role in strengthening public communication, good governance and national unity. He said that while progressing alongside all Indian languages, Hindi is now also establishing its presence in the fields of technology and research.

On the occasion of Hindi Day, Shah called upon people to resolve to strengthen Hindi as well as all Indian languages. He said the development of Indian languages is important not only for strengthening the country’s linguistic and cultural heritage but also for advancing the vision of a self-reliant India.

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh said Hindi is an intimate and relatable language that connects people’s thoughts, emotions and values. He appealed to people to collectively enhance the dignity of Hindi and contribute to its continued development.

It is noteworthy that Hindi Day is observed in India every year on September 14. On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union. Hindi Day is observed to promote the use of Hindi while also emphasising the preservation of India’s rich linguistic traditions and linguistic diversity.
