
New Delhi, 14 September (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday inspected the ongoing cleaning, beautification and lighting works, as well as the construction of a grand Chhath Ghat near Prembari Bridge on the Munak Canal. Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra and senior officials of the concerned departments were present during the inspection.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all the works are completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining the highest standards of quality. She said the Munak Canal should be clean, well-organised and fully prepared to meet the needs and convenience of devotees ahead of the Chhath festival.
The Chief Minister said, “The canal, which was once a picture of neglect, is now being transformed into a new symbol of faith, order and development. This reflects our commitment to ‘development as well as heritage’.”
