
Cachar (Assam), 14 September (HS): Acting on specific information, Cachar Police apprehended a 23-year-old man and recovered 10,000 suspected YABA tablets valued at around ₹1 crore from his possession, police said on Monday.
The accused was identified as Jairul Islam, a resident of Bhoirabpur Pt-I under Kalain Police Station. Police apprehended him from Gumrah Bazar during an operation based on the specific input.
According to police, the suspected YABA tablets weighed approximately 1.309 kg and were concealed in a red carry bag in the accused's possession. The tablets were seized following the operation.
Police said necessary legal action has been initiated in connection with the seizure. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the suspected contraband and its intended destination.-----------
